Spit hoods banned in New South Wales
New South Wales has become the second state in Australia to ban the use of spit hoods, after legislation passed through parliament yesterday evening.
Prison rights campaigners have long called for a nationwide ban on the use of the spit hood, describing the device as ‘archaic and inhumane.’
