Start with C: A murder mystery from writer Garry McDougall

Garry McDougall is an unsung legend of the Sydney/Illawarra arts and outdoor scene. He is a writer, artist, and co-founder of the independent non-profit organisation the Balmain Institute, as well as co-creator of the Great North Walk, an epic 250-kilometre walking trail between Sydney and Newcastle.

His new book, a murder mystery called ‘Start with C,’ is set in Brewarrina in outback New South Wales in the 1980s. Our producer Ollie had the chance to talk with Garry earlier about the themes he explores in the book, and the pleasures and pains of writing.

The Sydney book launch is at 7pm on March 11 next year at Balmain Town Hall. If you want more info, or a free copy of the book before the launch, email startwithc@aol.com. Happy reading!
