Steve Ahern talks 2SER at 45 being part of Australian Radio at 100
Radio’s been around in Australia for exactly a century now. 2SER occupies space in 45 of those years, and very few people have seen 2SER from all angles possible across its history. Steve Ahern, former Director of Radio at AFTRS, and current manager of ABC Radio Sydney just next door, is one of those few. From a volunteer when the station began all the way to acting General Manager as recently as 2018, Steve has given us much more than money could buy. He joined the Tuesday Daily live in studio to reflect back on his time at 2SER across his various stints, as well as in the wider context of 100 years of radio in Australia.
