Strip Searches at Splendour in The Grass

Good music, good friends, and camping – people from all across the country for these reasons flock to Splendour in The Grass, one of Australia’s most beloved music festivals. What they might not expect is to be unlawfully strip searched upon entry.

It is believed that there were hundreds of people who experienced this at the festival from 2016 onwards, and lawyers are encouraging them to step forward and tell their story.

This class action, headed by Slater & Gordon and Redfern Legal Centre, investigates unlawful strip searches at the Splendour in the Grass Music Festival.

Samantha Lee, Police Accountability Solicitor at Redfern Legal Centre, joined Willy Russo on Breakfast.
