Student media in the post-truth world
In Melbourne, editors of university magazines from all over the country are currently gathered together for the annual NEWS Student Editor Conference, hosted by Express Media. When examining all of the media turmoil, and the increasingly poor public perception of the media in our era of post-truth, the relevance of student magazines definitely comes into question, as we look into how we’re shaping our future journalists. The Editor-in-Chief of Macquarie University’s student magazine, Grapeshot, joined The Daily from the NEWS Conference in Melbourne to discuss the ongoing value of student journalism and what’s in store for Grapeshot in 2017.
