Students of All Abilities Shining on Stage

This week a spectacular student showcase will be celebrating the plethora of talent of students with disabilities from South Western Sydney.

An expected 200 students will perform in the Shining Stars Student showcase running this Thursday and Friday at Campbelltown Arts Centre.

Which will feature a visual arts exhibition followed by dance, drama and music.

The Shining Stars program was established by Michelle Davies in 2013 in partnership with The Arts Unit with the aim to support students with disabilities to have the same opportunities as their peers.

Students that have performed in this showcase have then gone on to perform at festivals, fundraisers and prestigious conferences.

One of our producer’s Marlene Even spoke with Michelle Davies the organiser of Shining Stars and principal at Chalmers Road School.
