Later today, the Greens will be announcing a sugar tax in a bid to overcome Australia’s obesity epidemic.

They will call for a 20 per cent tax on sugary drinks, which is said to collect around $500 million a year. Research cited by the Greens, suggested that the policy could lead to a fall in consumption of sugary drinks by 12 per cent.

Jamie spoke to Professor Timothy Gill at the Boden Institute of Obesity to talk about the implications of the Green’s sugar tax policy on Australians.
