Meeting that special someone, once upon a time, it was something that we left to fate and chance. However, over the past couple of decades, our traditional ways of meeting people and finding relationships has been evolving. With the introduction of platforms ranging from Match.com and eHarmony, to Tinder and Bumble, online dating has become a popular way to meet people. With the online world, we now have access to an endless amount of people with common interests, providing us with more options than ever. Gone are the days where this method may have been considered a last result, as our  younger generations are turning to it as a starting point – So why is that online dating has become a preferred way of meeting people, and how have these platforms and their strategies changed over the years?
