Sydney Bus Strike

Bus drivers in Sydney’s Inner West are on strike today in response to the State Government’s plans to privatise bus services.

The strike, which is affecting buses running out of Leichhardt, Burwood, Kingsgrove and Tempe depots, has also led to widespread heavy traffic across Sydney as many commuters choose to drive instead.

Myles Houlbrook-Walk was joined on The Daily by David Woollams, Divisional President of the Bus and Tram division of the Rail, Tram and Bus Union, to tell us why the bus drivers are on strike and what they’re hoping to achieve with this industrial action.
