Sydney Festival kicks off

Sydney is set to open the new year with a bang, as the Sydney Festival begins today. The festival features music, theatre, opera, visual art installations, and comedy across the city. These events aren’t just ticketed, there’s a swathe of free stuff to do and take part in. The festival is set to end on the 28th of January.

The Sydney Festival’s website has all the details, including an event schedule, pricing and accessibility info.

Breakfast’s Te Rina Taite spoke to Festival Director Olivia Ansell about the giant octopus in Barangaroo and what to look out for at the Sydney Festival.
