More Sydney-siders, more pressure on food supply
By 2031, the population of Sydney is expected to grow by another 1.6 million people – meaning an exponential growth in the number of mouths to feed.
Currently we source 20% of our total food supply within the Sydney basin.
However, that figure is estimated to drop rapidly if we continue to sprawl out and build on top of important agricultural land.
