Sydney Writers’ Festival Makes Triumphant Return in 2021

While the coronavirus pandemic may have thrown a spanner in the works for last year’s Sydney Writers’ Festival, the annual literary event is back for 2021. The program boasts a diverse range of events, featuring more than 400 local and international writers from April 26 to May 2. There is a promising virtual line-up including Kazuo Ishiguro, Isabel Wilkerson, and Geraldine Brooks, and in-person events featuring David Malouf, Tanya Plibersek, and more. This year’s theme Within Reach is underpinned by a sense of hope; illuminating local writers within the varied and ever-changing Australian literary landscape.
