Sydney’s Future As A Street Dance City

Spaces for Street Dance is a research and feasibility study, by Critical Path led by collaborators Dr. Rachael Gunn from Macquarie University, and local multidisciplinary artist Feras Shaheen. Rachael joins Tuesday Drive host Felix Shannon to talk about the importance of finding and cultivating spaces for street dancers of all disciplines.

City of Sydney awarded funding ‘Spaces for Street Dance’ through its’ Innovation and Ideas‘ program, expanding on the study’s efforts to make Street Dance a part of consultation on National Arts Policy.

From forging community spirit to supporting local institutions, to the dynamic ways street dance fits into existing spaces, ‘Spaces for Street Dance’ seeks to identify how the urban dance ethos can stake a positive claim on the future of Sydney.
