Are they synth-pop or post-wave?

They’ve always called what they do ‘post-wave’, but Baltimore’s Future Islands pre-dated the current trend for synth-pop by years, having formed in 2006. After signing to the mighty 4AD for their last album Singles, the band proved to be an unlikely hit and have followed up with The Far Field.

The Daily’s Adrian Walton caught up with Future Islands before their appearance at the Splendour In The Grass festival.
