Tackling Homelessness in NSW
As we head into the holidays the stresses of Christmas have begun to build. What food to make? How to keep calm while Uncle Joe spins another yarn about climate change being a government conspiracy? Meanwhile some Aussies are just looking for shelter.
According to research about 37,000 people are experiencing (all forms) of homelessness across the state. The last City of Sydney street count identified 254 people sleeping rough in the city alone.
There is no easy or simple solution to ending and preventing homelessness. To discuss the matter further 2SER Breakfast caught up with the NSW Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services, Gareth Ward.
