Take time out for nature with Earth Hour

This Saturday, 22 March at 8:30pm, millions of people and iconic landmarks across Australia will switch off their lights for Earth Hour, a global movement calling for stronger action on climate change and biodiversity loss.
Earth Hour 2025 is a timely reminder of the need to protect and restore the environment, and this year, Australians are encouraged to reflect on their connection with nature when they switch off this Saturday night.
New research highlights why reconnecting with nature is more important than ever, with nearly 40% of Aussies spending less than one hour outside each day. You can get your body moving as you join the world’s biggest movement to protect our planet. Earth Hour are challenging you to get active for 60 minutes a day and raise funds to regenerate nature as part of Challenge 60. Turn your minutes of movement into years of protection for nature, people and planet. No matter how you move, you’ll be helping to protect the animals you love.
Rachael Lance, WWF-Australia’s Head of Support Mobilisation, joined 2SER Breakfast to chat about switching off your lights and getting outside.
