Taking a close look at renewables in Australia
The buzz around renewable energy is growing in Australia, but how long until we reach a full transition to 100% renewables?
The transition faces a number of setbacks – closing down coal powered stations, retraining staff into renewable industries and aboloshing the stigma around ‘unreliable’ renewable sources.
Sven Teske and Nicola Ison work in the Institute for Sustainable Futures at the University of Technology Sydney and say all of these hurdles are possible to overcome, but that the federal governmental needs to switch on for the energy transition.
