Tamil Genocide Day Rally
This Wednesday the 18th of May marks the anniversary of the Tamil Genocide in Sir Lanka, whilst it is considered the end of the civil war, the suffering of the Tamil people has never ceased. The Tamil Refugee Council hosted a rally at Townhall to commemorate the 2009 Mullivaikal massacre and to bring attention to the suffering of the Tamil community.
Daily Presenter Jarred Cross spoke to Tamil Refugee Council member, Renuga Inpakumar about the rally, the persecution of Tamil Sir Lankans, and Australia’s involvement in this conflict.
