Tassie needs more people!
It’s no secret that Tasmania’s population isn’t growing. Much of Tasmania’s younger population leave the state to find better work opportunities on the mainland. However, it’s not just young people, but also families, who are looking for better economic opportunities.
The Tasmanian government has a very ambitious population target of 650,000 people by 2050, but how can this target be reached if more and more people are leaving the state?
The Multicultural Council of Tasmania believes attracting more migrants will help meet this population goal.
