Tech Giants Are Invading Our Privacy, So How Do We Take It Back?
Online privacy laws are set to see a major change with Australia’s consumer watchdog recommending some new reforms to better protect consumers privacy in the online space. Such reforms propose that consumers should have the right to request the erasure of their information, choices about whether corporations like Google and Facebook track consumers both online and offline and most significantly penalties of $10 million Australian dollars for companies that misuse confidential information, disclose private information to third parties and impose unfair privacy terms.
