Introduced back in 2008, NAPLAN assesses the literacy and numeracy knowledge and understanding of students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9.

The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority, or ACARA, publishes their findings on a website called My School, which includes NAPLAN results as well as school profiles, population data and financial information.

This time last week, the latest NAPLAN National Report was released on this platform, and to fill us in on the key findings and to address some of the main criticisms of the testing was ACARA CEO David de Carvalho.
