Tensions between the French and Australian government surrounding the new AUKUS submarine deal have escalated this week. The French foreign minister has claimed that the Australian government lied to him about how the deal was going, giving no prior indication that they were going to pull out. There’s now a lot of distrust with the Australian Defence Department, and future relations between Australia and France look up in the air.
