Thailand Caves Rescue Update
If you have been following the news this week, you will have no doubt heard of the rescue operation going on in Northern Thailand. 12 young boys and their soccer coach went missing just over two weeks ago, after a collapse due to heavy rain in the Tham Luang cave system caused them to become trapped 4km inside.
Last week, rescue divers were successful in finding the boys and their coach, and over the past week have been conducting emergency SCUBA lessons in an attempt to get the 13 people out. Tragically, news broke days ago that Thai Navy SEAL Saman Gunan had died whilst delivering oxygen canisters to the soccer team. Confidence in the success of the operation remains high however, as 4 of the boys emerged from the caves with a rescue team overnight.
2ser Newsroom director Geoff Field joined Tess Connery to discuss the latest developments of this story, and what will happen in the next couple days.
