The Acute Misfortune of Adam Cullen
Documenting the troubled life of visual artist Adam Cullen, a new feature film “Acute Misfortunate” travels back twenty-plus years to explore the unsettling relationship that develops between the Archibald winning artist and his 19 year-old biographer Erik Jensen.
It produces a startling image of a young man entering the very different world of one of the country’s most provocative artists, known for his depictions of the darker aspects of human nature. Stephen Hill talked to the biographer Erik Jensen to cast some light on the events depicted in the film.
