When China amped up their regulations on recycling imports last year, Australia was unprepared and put the recycling system in crisis mode.

To compensate China’s backflip on recycling regulations, Australia’s recycling is piling up in landfill sites across the state – sites which are deemed to reach full capacity in less than a year.

But Local Government NSW has come up an answer to Australia’s recycling problem.
