The Australian Water Rat – Rakali

While house-mouse and black rats are the type of animals that Australians may associate with the word rodent, Australia also supports an array of natural rodents that have been a part of our natural ecosystem for around half a million years. The Australian Water-Rat, or the Rakali, is a predator in the freshwater ecosystem of Australia, and Geoff Williams from the Australian Platypus Conservancy joined us on Drive again after we talked to him last week about platypuses, to discuss these water rats in more detail.
