The Beatles, 50 Years On

The impact of a musical artist’s influence can transcend generations, and have a phenomenal effect on the musical canon. Last Friday, 10th April, marked 50 years since The Beatles broke up in 1970. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison still have unprecedented influence on history, culture and music. The four-piece band and their music remain timeless classics, and they’re still the best selling music act of all-time. Mr. John Encarnacao, Lecturer in Music at Western Sydney University and 2SER Alumnus, was on Drive to reflect on the Beatles’ legacy.
