The COVID-19 lockdown has led to a drastic decline in female employment around the state, especially in the retail industry. Recent reports this week have shown that 63% of unemployed individuals are women.
This concern has led to union groups to question the effectiveness of government policies like the Disaster Payment Fund in their ability to ensure that young females maintain job security and do not erode their Superannuation funds.
