The Cooperative’s Pagliacci with Menila Moineaux

Founded in 2019, The Cooperative stages productions that highlight, explore, confront and challenge issues from today’s world with casts of emerging performers.

The Cooperative’s second production of 2023 is a reimagining of Ruggero Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci which will take place on August 3rd and 4th at Pitt Street Uniting Church. In an effort to make opera accessible to all, The Cooperative notably allows patrons to attend on a “pay as you are able” scale, with profits donated to charities related to the productions’ themes after production expenses are paid. Profits from their Pagliacci production will go to organisations working to support victims of domestic violence. Founder and director Menila Moineaux joined us in the studio to talk about Pagliacci and The Cooperative’s mission.
