A story of friendship living amongst the Italian Alps offers a rarely seen glimpse into the life of the mountain men of Northern Italy. Drawing upon the award-winning novel of Paolo Cognetti, a new film explores the life journey of two friends separated and connected by their different backgrounds who go on to establish a bond based around a love of the mountainside. Stephen Hill talked to the film’s director Felix Van Groeningen  about his new film The Eight Mountains, which is premiering at the Italian Film Festival.
