The fight to stop logging with upcoming NSW bushfire season

Despite the upcoming bushfire season, an alliance group fighting to stop the logging of New South Wales forests vulnerable to bushfires was unsuccessful in their legal action on Monday. The North East Forest Alliance made an application to stop logging in the Braemar and Myrtle forests, which were both damaged in the Black Summer Fires of 2019 and 2022. Evidence concerning the impact on koalas and their habitats was however ruled not relevant.
