Handbag: The Movie
An upcoming documentary, Handbag the Movie, tells a rare story of the relationship between straight women and gay men – where the women are labelled as the “handbag”. It’s explores LGBTQI activism through telling a personal story of four generations of women in the same family who have the role as the handbag.
Created exclusively by women and told from their perspective, it’s humorous and fierce, exploring the historical and academic background of the term ‘fag hag’, pop culture and stereotypes.
