The Koori Mail goes to Press
When flooding devastated the Northern NSW town of Lismore, the independent Indigenous newspaper, the Koori Mail, was forced to halt production — the first time to happen in the paper’s thirty year history.
With their building flooded and the newspaper out of action, the Koori Mail found itself transformed into a makeshift disaster relief hub, providing support for residents in and around the Northern Rivers.
However, with the flood waters receded, the Koori Mail has finally hit the presses again, releasing their first issue since the floods shut them down.
