With the predicted most attended women’s sporting event of all time underway, that being the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the Matilda’s everlasting legacy has succeeded in inspiring young women across generations. The soaring attendance records for the Matilda’s opening game against the Republic of Ireland just over a week ago only highlighted the overall significance of women’s sport and how this amount of support has increased overtime. Fortunately for the fans, the Matilda’s star player, Sam Kerr, has been confirmed to play against Canada in tonight’s game, which is set to determine the Matilda’s place in the knockout stages.
