The Monday Daily Gig Guide
For another instalment of the Monday Daily’s local gig guide, Oscar and Jarred gave a re cap of some of the shows they caught on the weekend and discussed some of the must see gigs coming up this week:
Friday 12/02 Creep Features and Harlequin Alley
This Friday on the eve of the eve of valentine’s day hahaha check out rock n roll duo Creep features play at the Vanguard in Newtown, one of my favourite venues along with Sydney jazz rockers Harlequin Alley from 9-12pm. If you are a fan of Royal blood then Creep features are the duo for you, they play heavy and they play loud, so prepare your ear holes. Harlequin Alley are a local band from the inner west, who have played a few times at Sunday Setlists and are definitely worth checking out, blending classically jazz sounds with straight rock riffs, expect a saxophone solo or two.
Saturday 13/02
On Saturday we have Kimono Drag Queens + PEEL at the legendary OAF, there will be an early show at 6:30 which there are still tickets for. The kimono Drag Queens are a psychedelic genre spanning seven piece who will be promoting their 2020 album songs of worship, I had a listen to it on Friday and I’m a big fan.
Jarred and Oscar are both big fans of Peel and their debut single Memory loop which draws heavy influence from bands like Ride and New Order.
