The Nayri Niara Good Spirit Festival

Have you ever thought of engaging culture that is not provided by the ‘market-place’, with connection to land or ‘sacred place‘?  Are you interested in exploring the sensibilities and nuances that stem from country, as defined by Australia’s first nation people?  In March, Tasmania’s Bruny Island is hosting ‘The Nay-ri Nia-ra Good Spirit Festival’, a three-day gathering of music, ceremony, knowledge sharing and arts, where ancestral know-how and modern knowledge come together.  Jess spoke with the creative director of the Festival, Ruth Langford about the nature of the festival.
