The Northen Territory is updating its anti-discrimination laws

The anti-discrimination laws in the Northern Territory are set to be changed as the government aiming to expand the list of categories protected under legislation.

The new reform is expected to pass when parliament sits this week, with LGBTQI+ groups saying the legislation includes important protections and leaders of several religious groups raising concerns over the proposed changes to anti-discrimination laws.

The labor government in Northern Territory is holding firm on pushing through the amendments in their current form, But opponents have committed to putting pressure on the government.
