The Rivoli recreated for the Sydney Festival

In the early to mid 20th century, Parramatta was the home of The Rivoli, an iconic and vibrant dance venue. (sometimes doubling as a boxing venue or skate rink) Not only was the music broadcast across Australia, but the ballroom was a place for families and people could bring together their love of music and dance.

Although the building doesn’t exist any more, the atmosphere and vibrancy has been re-created in a brand new production, The Rivoli, debuting as part of the Sydney Festival tonight!

Director Miranda, Wheen, joined us to reveal how you can experience the wonder of The Rivoli with the Dance Maker Collective.

Tickets are available at the Sydney Festival site.
