Today, 21 January, non-profit children’s charity organisation The Smith Family is launching its 2020 Back to School Appeal to help more than 9,000 disadvantaged and marginalised children. As Australians prepare for the start of a new school year, the impact of poverty on a child’s educational outcomes can be devastating. A new survey commissioned by The Smith Family has shown a vast majority of Australians believing that tackling an underestimated child poverty should be a top priority for our nation.
