The state of volunteering in Australia

Volunteering is an important part of the fabric of social life in Australia.  Many services whether it is in education, emergency services, environmental services, aged care, disability support, and community welfare in general, rely on the help and labour of this army of volunteers.

If traditionally Australians have been quite involved in volunteering to help others, the post-covid era has witnessed a significant drop in volunteer numbers at a time when it would need it most.  Beth interviewed Mark Pearce, the CEO of Volunteering Australia, to shed some light on this difficult situation.
