The Use and Future of Psychedelics in Psychotherapy
From July 1st, 2023, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has approved authorized psychiatrists to prescribe MDMA to treat PTSD, and Psilocybin, a compound found in psychotropic “magic” mushrooms, to address treatment-resistant depression. Despite its potential, there’s still a long road ahead before psychedelic drugs become part of mainstream psychotherapy.
