The work battle facing young adults from migrant backgrounds

It goes without saying that the economic downturn induced by COVID-19 has put many citizens out of work, or placed their livelihoods on hold. However, in the most recent and current lockdown, it has become confrontingly evident that young adults from migrant backgrounds are feeling this impact more than anyone. Not only is it near impossible to get a first part-time job for these individuals, but the chance to create meaningful social networks has basically disappeared. We were joined by CEO Carmel Guerra from the Centre for Multicultural Youth to discuss how COVID is preventing young adults from migrant backgrounds from finding work and job opportunities.
