Therapeutic Benefits Art in Times of Crisis

With many Australians living out their days within the confines and safety of their own homes, it can be hard to find something to smile about. And whilst many of us are keeping our physical body safe from illness by participating in self isolation, it is now more important than ever to look after not just your physical body but your mind and mental health. So what can be done to better support ourselves in such an emotionally challenging time?

Professor Jill Bennet, a Professor of Experimental Arts at the University of New South Wales believes the answer lies in art. 

She spoke to The Daily about how art can offer intrinsically valuable ways of dealing with negative thoughts, feelings and the emotional challenges that such a time is bringing us all.
