In this interview we talk with Wayne Tunks about his play THINGS NOT TO DO AFTER A BREAKUP playing at the Depot Theatre.
Lauren thinks she has it all, until she’s dumped by her boyfriend,
Gideon, and dropped by her literary agent, all on the same day.
Devastated, Lauren lashes out, making all kinds of mistakes until her
friends make her realise the only way she can get over Gideon is to write a
book about the “Things Not To Do After a Break Up”.
When “Things Not To Do After a Break Up” opened in Melbourne in 2012, it broke box office
records for Revolt Artspace. Audiences loved this comedic gem which now makes its Sydney
Premiere at The Depot Theatre.
“Things Not To Do After a Break Up” is a classic romantic comedy with a distinct Australian feel. It is
the perfect night out for couples or big groups of friends ready for a good laugh.
Written by acclaimed dramatist, Wayne Tunks, his most successful work has included, “The Subtle
Art of Flirting”, “We’ll Always Have Wagga”, “Silvertop Ash”, “The Bridesmaid Must Die”, “The Girlie
Show” and “Everything I Know I Learnt From Madonna”. He’s been producing hit shows at The
Depot since 2016, “Flame Trees”, “Bitch” and this year’s smash hit, “According to Otto”. Tunks has
just released his first web series, “After Nightfall”, which is currently winning awards all over the
world. Tunks is also a former storyliner for TV’s, “Neighbours”.
“Things Not To Do After a Break Up” is directed by the talented, Emma Louise, and stars an
incredible array of performers; Gil Balfas, Sareena Barnes, Amy Victoria Brooks, Tom Harwood,
Tristan Lewis-Upton, Lara Lightfoot and Wayne Tunks.
