This Day in History, April 9th

Skimming a Wikipedia article on today’s date but with a nice voice and song bedded underneath it, we discover! On today’s date, Chinese warlord Dong Zhuo had his troops evacuate the capital Luoyang after failing to buy off the man sent to hunt him down, looting and burning along the way. The expedition to establish the first permanent English settlement in North Americas departed England and “the most bloodthirsty ruffian that ever took to the bush in Australia” Dan Morgan was shot and killed at Peechalba Station in Victoria. Plus birthdays for Jørn Utzon, Hugh Hefner, Lil Nas X, and Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes!
