On today’s date in 29 BC Roman Emperor Octavian got himself some good press with the first of three Triumphs shortly after his famous defeat of the forces of Antony and Cleopatra. An 8.5 magnitude earthquake killed 25,000 people in southern Peru and sent tsunamis as far as Hawaii and New Zealand, and the Canberra Air Disaster killed ten and led to the downfall of the Menzies Government. Plus birthdays for Alfred Hitchcock, Fidel Castro, Sarah Sanders, Tal Bachman, and Dan Fogelberg.
