This Day in History, February 19th

Today in 197, Roman Emperor Septimius Severus defeated the usurper Clodius Albinus in the Battle of Lugdunum, the largest, most hard-fought, and bloodiest of all clashes between opposing Roman forces. February 19th also saw England and the Netherlands sign the Treaty of Westminster, transferring the Dutch colony of New Amsterdam to England to become New York, the largest single attack ever mounted by a foreign power on Australia, the Bombing of Darwin in WWII, and birthdays for Nicolaus Copernicus, Millie Bobby Brown, Falco, and Smokey Robinson!
