This Day in History, Jan 29th
Stepping out of the 2ser time machine onto the steppes of northern Vietnam in ancient times, we’re just in time to see Dai Viet hand the Mongols their very first defeat, depending on who you believe. Also on today’s date, the Mantra-Rock Dance, “the major spiritual event of the San Francisco hippie era”, took place in San Francisco in an effort to raise awareness and funds for the International Society for Krishna Consciousness and George W. Bush made his infamous Axis of Evil speech. Plus birthdays for Germaine Greer, Oprah Winfrey, Bettye Lavette, and David Byron of Uriah Heap!
