This Day in History, Jan 31st
On this day through the ages, Prince Eric scored a crushing victory at the Battle of Lena to become King Eric X of Sweden, a battle of which allegedly only 55 of his opponent’s men, of a force of 12 to 18 thousand, survived. The first venereal diseases clinic opened at London Lock Hospital, the Holey Dollar became one of the first coins ever struck in Australia, and Ham the Astrochimp made one small step for a monkey, one giant leap for monkeykind. Plus more, famous birthdays, and a couple of great tracks.
