This Day in History, October 29th
Oh, shit! You’ve fallen in a timehole! Doomed to walk the halls of time forever! On today’s date in 312, Constantine the Great entered Rome after his victory at the Battle of the Milvian Bridge, with a huge parade. His rival, Maxentius, also got a parade but only his head was invited. ‘Black Tuesday’, when 16 million shares were dumped on the US stock market, further fueled the Great Depression, and in one of Australia’s great miscarriages of justice, Lindy Chamberlain was sentenced today to life imprisonment for the murder of her baby daughter Azaria (but thankfully later released and pardoned). Plus we celebrate birthdays for Dan Castellaneta, Winona Ryder, Kevin Dubrow, and Peter Green, founding member of Fleetwood Mac!
